Year 3 HWSSP Sports Festival

Dear Parents and Carers,

 Year 3 HWSSP Sports Festival - Tuesday 16th June 2026 (1:30pm – 4pm)

Year 3 will be taking part in a ‘Sports Festival’ on Tuesday 16th June at Heath Mount School. During this event, the children will have the opportunity to develop their skills at different sports throughout the afternoon. This event has been organised by our HWSSP Pupil Voice Council, of which two of our Year 6 pupils are a part of. These pupils have worked incredibly hard planning and organising this festival and will be helping to run the festival on the day also.

Staff and children will get a coach from school to Heath Mount at 1:15pm. The children will have their lunch as usual at school before they leave. The children can choose a school dinner option in the mornings if they wish, or bring in a packed lunch just as usual.

The event is due to finish at 4pm, at which time we will be getting back on the coach to return to school. We are estimating that the coach will arrive back at school at around 4:15pm. If the event finishes late or there is heavy traffic causing a considerable delay we will let parents know via an Arbor communication. Please note, the main gate will be closed at this time so please wait outside the office gate as the children will be dismissed by their teacher from here.

Unfortunately, there are no spectators allowed at this event. It is likely that some of the sports will be outside, so please ensure you check the weather forecast and pack suitable clothing. Your child must arrive at school on this day wearing their full Priors Wood PE kit, including their trainers. Children must bring their (named) water bottle with them.

Please either give consent on Arbor under trips or email admin@priorswood.herts.sch.uk by Friday 12th June giving permission for your child to travel on the coach and take part in the afternoon events.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on the admin email address.

 Yours sincerely,

 Mrs Booth

PE Coordinator.
